What can affect the quotation
- The areas to be tiled and their approximate sizes
- The tiles you have chosen, or whether you would like advice
- The condition of the existing surfaces
- Whether old tiles need removing first
Materials and finish options
- Ceramic, porcelain, natural stone and mosaic installation
- Cement board and waterproof tanking systems for wet areas
- Flexible adhesives and grouts suited to the substrate
- Trim and edge details in matching or contrasting finishes
Exclusions and specialist requirements
Tiling is only as sound as what is behind it — loose plaster, timber floors that flex or damp substrates must be put right first, and we will tell you if preparation is needed. Natural stone needs sealing and specific adhesives. Underfloor heating changes the adhesive and movement-joint requirements.
Frequently asked questions
- Can you tile over existing tiles?
- Sometimes, if the existing tiles are sound and well bonded — but removing them usually gives a better, longer-lasting result. We will advise after seeing the surface.
- Do I need tanking in a shower area?
- Yes — tiles and grout are not waterproof on their own. Wet areas get a tanking membrane behind the tiles to protect the structure.
- Can you supply the tiles?
- Most customers choose their own tiles; we advise on quantities, wastage and suitability, and can supply if you prefer.
