What can affect the quotation
- The rooms and approximate floor areas
- The flooring you have chosen, or whether you would like advice
- The existing floor construction if known — boards or concrete
- Whether old flooring needs uplifting and disposal
Materials and finish options
- Engineered wood in a range of species and finishes
- LVT and laminate from established manufacturers
- Levelling compounds and plywood overlay systems
- Acoustic underlays for flats and conversions
Exclusions and specialist requirements
Wood flooring needs to acclimatise in the property before fitting, and rooms must be cleared of furniture unless otherwise agreed. Uneven or damp subfloors need preparation first, which we will identify at quotation stage. In flats, lease terms sometimes require acoustic underlay — check your lease and we will include it.
Frequently asked questions
- Engineered wood or laminate — which should I choose?
- Engineered wood is real timber, can be refinished and lasts longer; laminate and LVT cost less and resist scratches and water better. We will talk through the trade-offs for your rooms.
- Can flooring go over underfloor heating?
- Yes — engineered wood and LVT both work over underfloor heating with the right adhesives or underlay. Tell us at enquiry stage.
- Do you remove the old flooring?
- Yes — uplifting and disposing of old flooring can be included in the quotation.
