Exclusions and specialist requirements
Fence heights next to highways are limited by planning rules, and shared boundaries need neighbour agreement before replacement. Where the legal boundary line is uncertain, that is a matter for your title deeds or a land surveyor — we build on the line you confirm. Design input for complex boundaries is available through our civil design services.
Frequently asked questions
- Concrete or timber posts — which is better?
- Concrete posts do not rot and last longest; timber posts look more natural and suit some gardens better. We will talk through the options for your boundary.
- My fence blew down — can it be repaired?
- Sometimes, if the panels are sound and only posts have failed. We will tell you honestly whether repair or replacement is the better value.
- Who owns the fence between me and my neighbour?
- Ownership comes from the title deeds and is sometimes shared. It is worth agreeing the work with your neighbour before we start — we build once the line and ownership are clear.
