External Rendering and Repairs in London

Render protects the walls beneath it — and cracked, hollow or missing render lets water into the structure. We carry out external rendering and render repairs across London, from patching damaged areas to re-rendering whole elevations.

What can affect the quotation

  • Photographs of the affected areas and the whole elevation
  • The approximate area involved
  • Whether the render is being matched to existing
  • Access details — height and any obstructions for scaffolding

Materials and finish options

  • Sand and cement render with a range of finishes
  • Modern through-colour and silicone render systems
  • Render repairs blended to the existing surface
  • Masonry painting to finish, where required

Exclusions and specialist requirements

Render failure is sometimes a symptom of a deeper problem — damp, movement or a leaking gutter — and we will tell you honestly if the cause needs attention first. Scaffolding is usually needed for upper storeys and is priced as part of the quotation. Rendering is weather-dependent and programmes allow for that.

Frequently asked questions

Can cracked render just be patched?
Localised damage can be patched, but widespread hollowness or cracking usually means the render has debonded and re-rendering is the lasting answer. We will advise after inspection.
What is through-colour render?
A modern render with the colour through its full depth, so it never needs painting and minor chips do not show. It costs more than sand and cement but saves on maintenance.
Will new render match the old?
Repairs are blended as closely as the existing finish allows; for a perfect match across an elevation, re-rendering the whole wall is the better option.
